  The mission of SIDC is to share the joy of dance with its community and around the globe and to provide the highest caliber of dance training in the studio. SIDC seeks to enhance its position as one of the United States finest dance studios through its vitality, innovation, and diversity and through its uncompromising commitment to artistic excellence based in the classical, folk and contemporary dance traditions.
  SIDC is not just a dance company. It’s a group of dedicated passionate people, who come together to make sure that our commitment to the best in dance and movement is upheld, and available to all who seek it out. Our family atmosphere, energetic staff, and team-first approach have helped to create an environment where people of all ages feel like they belong the moment they walk in the door. OKSANA CHERNYUK, the artistic director and choreographer of the Sunrise International Dance Company, was born in Odessa, Ukraine. Oksana is a graduate of Odessa’s Ballet School and the Moscow Institute of Folkdance and Art. Oksana toured as the principle dancer in the “Black Sea” professional folk dance company all over North Africa, Europe, Ukraine, and Russia. In 1995, Mrs. Chernyuk was invited to perform in Houston as a featured dancer and ever since has performed at many known locations such as: The Hobby Center, The Jones Hall, Houston International Festival, TBH Theater, The Renaissance Festival, The Museum of Fine Arts, and even performed at Dance Houston with her husband. Oksana opened her Sunrise International Dance Company in 2007 in which she currently teaches as the chief director of the company and performs a wide assortment of dance techniques and styles in which incorporate many different cultures. The company builds well-rounded dancers by incorporating the grace and beauty of ballet, the strength and emotion of modern dance, and the energy of traditional folk dancing. As time passed an abundance of dance styles have been added to the company, these include; Contemporary, Jazz, Flamenco, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, and Break-Dance. The company currently has over fifty enrolled dancers and a team of six advanced dancers. Mrs. Chernyuk is currently planning on musical productions, and aspires to go on tour with her company.
